I would just like to thank you for the inspirational two days. I attended yLead 2009 and it helped me in many different ways. It has especially helped me with my confidence to get up in front of others and speak. I really enjoyed myself and it really exceeded my expectations on so many levels. Once again I would like to thank you all for all you did for me. I would also like to thank all the leaders as they all taught us all something different from their own personal experiences that we can use to help us.
EXTRAordinary Conference Experiences!
yLead has just completed The Australian Student Leadership Conference at 6 locations down the East Coast of the country. We have positively impacted over 700 students throughout these conferences. Every single participant that was apart of this magnificent experience has walked away with a stronger sense of self, the courage to tackle the challenges in the year ahead and invaluable leadership skills that will not only serve them for the remainder of this year, but for the rest of their lives.
The newly formatted, 3-day residential conference is facilitated by world class presenters, who ensure that every session is fun, experiential and jammed packed with the latest leadership teachings available. To make this all possible, these presenters are assisted by a highly trained team of positive and engaging volunteers. These leaders also become mentors to the conference participants throughout and post conference, making this extended experience unique to yLead. It also ensures students are walking away with not just friendships and memories to last a lifetime, but a mentor who will help guide them through the obstacles of their senior year.
yLead has a proud and strong tradition of implementing fun and energetic dances into our programs. One such dance, "When Love Takes Over", by Kelly Rowland, was taught to all conference participants throughout Australia this year. Some of the conference participants were so passionate about what leadership can create and the message that the dance conveyed, that they decided to return to their schools and inspire their fellow classmates with renewed vigor, passion and enthusiasm for the year ahead. Please see the Youtube video below for how one school decided to make a positive difference, on their first day back, after attending a yLead conference!
I am thankful for this conference. The smiles, laughter, trust, confidence, courage, but most of all the friendships that I've gained has empowered me to have more passion, to serve others more, to dream bigger, to personally grow and the integrity to do the right thing.
