115,000 reasons to believe in our Aussie Kids

The School of St Judes

They say that the yGeneration is very self focused. yLead has evidence to the contrary. Over the past 12 months Australian Youth have come together from far and wide, north and south, Weipa to Melbourne to donate over $115,000 to The School of St Jude. Their mission is to assist Gemma Sisia to build her 12th Boarding House, which will accommodate 80 of her students receiving Primary and Secondary Education from this remarkable school. Initiated by Bernie Kelly’s visit to St Jude in 2009, the money has been generated from a variety of different sources including...

1. The newly formed yLead ‘St Jude’s’ Committee chaired by past participants Amanda Wood and Jasmine Weston,

2. Multiple yLead client schools including...

  • Western Cape Community College in Weipa,
  • St Hilda’s and St Michael’s from the Gold Coast,
  • West Moreton Anglican College from Ipswich,
  • Matthew Flinders Anglican from Buderim,
  • Stuartholme at Bardon and
  • Beerwah SHS of the Glasshouse Mountains, plus

3 .Over 120 current and past Africa participants who collectively raised $ 62000 !

We at yLead would like to thank the Youth of Australia for inspiring us with your enormous generosity, and stimulating great faith in a future that we know will look after those less fortunate then self.
