The Australian Student Leadership Conference
Australia's premier student leadership residential training courses
Since 1991, the Australian Student Leadership Conference has attracted thousands of student leaders from around Australia and are regarded as mandatory by many secondary schools. The primary purpose is to engage young adults in powerful leadership and personal growth development experiences. These experiences generate genuine self belief and a vision and values driven commitment to contribute positively towards our society.

Imagine for a moment, several hundred students in the one room who are all just about to begin their final year of school. They have been elected leaders by their peers and their teachers. They know that before them lies a responsibility, one which they are eager but perhaps a little nervous about fulfilling. We know all about the common issues and concerns that student leaders face today:
- Now that I am a leader, what do I actually do?
- How do I get the support of my leadership team and the staff?
- How will I gain the respect, commitment and support of my peers?
- How do I manage my time and balance leadership responsibilities with study, sport and social needs?
The conference creates an environment where students are able to share these concerns and learn practical skills that will help them through the year ahead. Once they realise that such concerns are completely normal, and that their peers are most likely thinking the same thing, their eyes are opened to the possibilities that exist for them and they are so much less daunted to tackle challenges head on.
But what else do we know about young people? We know they often have boundless energy, and they express a strong preference for experiential learning. So we’ve designed a conference that takes all their youthful enthusiasm and harnesses it to give them a unique experience which is both fun and meaningful, incorporating music, dance, technology, games and creative thinking. They will leave inspired to make a difference to their world – be it at home, school, their local community or even globally.
After 20 years of the Australian Student Leadership Conference, some would consider we have almost ‘come of age’. But we know that this will never happen as we will continue to make this experience authentic and current to maintain the outstanding quality of spirit, program content and inspiration that we demand of a conference that influences so many. We must never ‘arrive’, as that signifies a lack of desire to improve.
We would love your students to take this amazing journey of leadership with us. In a world that is desperate for leaders with dedication, determination and heart, we are proud to say that this breeding ground is thriving!
