Chrysalis

Year 10 is a time where a major shift happens in a young woman’s life. They will undergo changes that will see them emerge as young adults and future leaders of their school. It is a year of transitions from one mindset to another, one path to another and one experience of life to another. It’s a year where dramatic, positive and beautiful change can occur and where there is great potential to develop emerging leaders.

Over two non residential days, the yLead CHRYSALIS conference will help to guide this shift through the exploration of Leadership - leading self and leading others. yLead believes in leadership as service – ‘leadership is any action that makes the world I touch a better place’. The conference will be a starting point for the cohesion of your student leadership team. As they enter their senior years this conference will have laid the groundwork for an ethos that will have them leaving an indelible legacy as contributors to their school and peers. They will be stimulated by CHRYSALIS to make the transformation to their true potential as people and leaders.

Using interactive processes, group work and networking, the conference will teach practical skills and build confidence in the girls so that they can go back to school ready to accept the challenge of senior schooling. It will also explain how leadership and service can be developed in themselves and those around them that they influence.

Students will emerge from the conference knowing:

  • What Service Leadership is about
  • How to balance personal and leadership goals in the critical years ahead
  • Creative problem solving techniques and critical thinking
  • How to have the right attitude to ensure success
  • Critical elements to working as a team
  • How to communicate effectively

CHRYSALIS is a catalyst for awareness and change as students emerge transformed and ready to take on their roles as young adults and emerging leaders in school and community.
