Jen is the Youth Health Officer at the Dorset Council, which is a small regional area in North East Tasmania, Australia. As the sole youth service provider in the area the position is exciting and varied.

Jen works with a very active youth advisory group called FEWCHA. The group have developed some exciting and innovative projects for which they have received state and national recognition but more importantly have built up their sense of well being and contributed to making Dorset a better place to be!

Jen's real passion though is the work she is doing in India with an organisation she founded in partnership with Girl Guides Tasmania called ‘children4change'. The organisation is currently raising funds to purchase a building for a Shelter for children and young people in Calcutta, India. Jen encourages young people in Australia to connect with children and young people in India in a way that empowers them to become advocates for change.

If ‘Leadership is any action that makes the world a better place' then here is an opportunity to put before your students the very embodiment of that philosophy. By relating her amazing personal journey of contribution to our world through her ‘children4change' work, Jen will inspire in your students to believe that ordinary people can do extraordinary things.

Her engagement with your students will mean ;
• They will be aware that making a positive choice can give great outcomes
• They will be encouraged to take hold of opportunities available to them
• They will be empowered to get involved with their community
• They will understand the true meaning of service leadership
• Simply, they will inspired to believe they can make a difference

Jen Barron can't wait to be ‘Speaking Leadership" at your school!
