Maasai Orphanage
This is probably your first authentic interaction with the African people, as we travel south to the Kenyan village of Kajiado. On the bus ride there, it is likely you will see the colourful Maasai and maybe a giraffe, which will make you want to stop the bus! But it will be the entrance to Kajiado Children’s Home which will delight you! Over 80 beautiful Maasai orphans will hold your hand and provide you with an unforgettable introduction to your African adventure.
Last year, a participant emailed home and said ‘the trip had already re-paid its price tag on this very first day’. Enjoy the Maasai dancing lessons you will receive, the Manyatta (traditional village) you will visit and in the late afternoon be prepared for the annual yLead vs Kajiado soccer friendly. We haven’t won one yet!
